To understand how the evolution of AI translates into the work, it is important to understand the specific use cases of and the value AI delivers. The benefits to a company either come with increasing revenue or decreasing costs. This is usually accomplished with better predictions of the customer, competitor activity or through better allocation of resources.

So, the real value lies in predicting the future. Every action taken by a company or employee is guided by certain rules or occur in specific conditions. The recent advances in this field, especially in machine learning, have provided us with necessary frameworks and tools to apply thinking at scale. Therefore, AI has reduced the cost of prediction. So, how do we navigate in a world where the cost of prediction is so low and the value of prediction is high?

Judgment, an ability to make decisions by understanding the impact of different actions in the real world, is increasingly becoming an important skill. AI is forcing us to become more skilled in making decisions. This also presents a managerial challenge of preparing employees for the new world and making sure that the right skillsets exist in the organization. Training, understanding the rate of adoption and designing processes that help build effective conversations and collaboration is the key to success.
